Bass strings?

My aunt gave me a bass that she used to have a Washburn XS-2 to be exact n i'm finally getting strings this Monday. Idk what kind of gauges i would need, never alone idk what turnings basses r tuned in. So people of EMF what kind of strings would i need n what kind on tuning would i need. (i play guitar n what i usually play is slipknot as i lay dying, A7X, All That Remains, ect) thanks
