Landingpage misunderstanding

I personally never used landing pages for marketing.

Recently, i've seen people on fiverr selling landing pages.I took a look at those landing pages, and saw that it is a simple design (according to the niche/or vertical) and it has a simple form to fill out.

My question is how does a person make money with a form? isnt that landing page supposed to redirect to an actual cpa offer? whats the point of collecting other peoples information?

I am very confused how this all works

Please provide some niche examples.
