Lol you guys don't have a clue i swear..
Ok protein shakes...
WHEY protein is a type of protein like fats you get different types saturated fats etc...
WHEY protein is the best for muscle build as it has the most effective release times..
You find protein in EVERYTHING you can consume (drink, food, pills etc) so if any protein could cause you harm then so can that meal you just ate...
The only time a supplement can cause harm is either
Creatine when you don't drink enough water it can dehydrate you and won't do much good for you liver.
Or steroids of course with obvious effects...

Your comment is just dam crazy!
Many unwell people (mainly old) are given protein shakes and they don't get fat.
Also going to the gym doesn't stop you getting fat as you aren't burning tons of calories when you ''workout'' you need
cardio to stop you from getting fat...
If you really think that protein powder can kill you or whatever direction your going in i don't know then go weigh yourself (rightnow!) convert it to kgs (write in google
161 lbs to kg =) 161 being how much you weigh (i weigh 161 you may weight more/less)
now lets say google returned that you weight 73.5665 kg ignore the 5665 ok so now we are left with 73 times that by two
73 + 73 = 146
Now we have 146 so through out each day you need atleast 146grams of protein consumed.
If you split that by 6 .. 25 (just under)
So now we will eat 6 meals each day which have about 25grams of protein per meal.
It is quite simple.
