Hello eMillion Forum, Thanks for being such an amazing community.
I am proud to present you our first exclusive interview of many more to come!
Its my pleasure to welcome Vish Vadlamani the CEO of FivestarCPA. He is a very talented young entrepreneur who has been very successful in his business ventures. Lets give him a warm welcome
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. How old are you? Where do you live?
Starting off, I am feeling grateful to have this opportunity to be interviewed by you. My name is Vish Vadlamani and I am an 18 year old internet marketer from Vancouver, Canada. Although I am a Canadian, I am originally from India. I have a few other skills that I bring to the table and they include web designing, programming and animating. Apart from main stream internet marketing skills, I use these other skills when it is needed to defend myself from boredom.
2. How long have you been working in this industry and how did you get involved?
To this date, it has been exactly 1 year, 1 month and 1 day since I started my online adventure in a pursuit to ‘steer my own craft’, and make money. I was involved in rather a strange way. Fact was, I couldn’t find any ‘real job’ in the offline market. Everywhere I went, I got rejected, and I didn’t want to try working at MCD and the like. While I was job-less, I had a lot of passion for cars and other expensive things and wanted to acquire them, but with no money I know it was like bringing oil out of water. Even my parents got fed up with me, as I was ‘really useless’. That’s when I started looking up online, and started my journey with a keyword, ‘ how to make money online’.
Just to add a little more information, initially I started ways to make money online back in 2008 and came across a whole lot of PTC (paid to click) sites, and I simply lost interest in them as they were utter boring and I wasn’t running any sort of real business. I’ve never cashed out as well. While that’s aside, my journey began with that ‘powerful’ keyword as I call it and soon I came across a website called, fileserve. It is a PPD (pay per download) based revenue model. These were my first steps into affiliate marketing. It was with fileserve I made my first $ online. I cashed out the money I made, approximately $20 and immediately bought hosting and other necessities and signed up to a CPA network. And that’s where my actual CPA journey began. Later, I have done facebook marketing, youtube marketing, twitter and other social media traffic generation methods in abundance. Exactly after one year, here I am with my own CPA networks,
FIVESTAR CPA and
FIVESTAR VIRAL.
3. What are your favourite traffic sources? What niche has worked best for you?
As stated above, facebook has simply been a gold mine to me. Let it be driving traffic through PPC or viral apps. Facebook has got the quality you are aiming for. As far as the niches go, there’s not exactly one niche to mention. There were some interesting results I have managed to gather in a variety of niches. For instance, penny auctions really worked for me on Australian traffic, similarly dating ads on Canadian and France Traffic.
Email submits have been a killer on viral traffic. As you can see there isn’t one specific niche I was limited to. A good marketer can master one niche. A great marketer can master anything you throw at him. I am not a great marketer yet, but I put my heart, soul and intelligence in whatever I am doing.
4. What was your biggest success to date?
Biggest success has been making that first $ online. Similarly, launching two CPA networks and managing them is no easy task either. I have faced a lot of obstacles including an instance where a lonely scammer tried to slander my company’s reputation with a fake scam complaint, in order to steal the fan pages I possessed. But that didn’t cause even the slightest of the damages. I am not going to say I am super successful yet. I have a lot to learn and with an open mind I believe success isn’t an option, but a must.
5. What about any failures?
I haven’t seen any biggest failures yet as I take steps with much caution. A few minor failures that have caused a great deal of frustration include, lack of persistence and wasting time with useless people. I have learned from my mistakes and I took a vow to not repeat those again.
6. What took the longest learning curve?
PPC. PPC was the single most thing that took a while to master. Of course there are others as well, for instance making that first $ and then SCALING it took a while as well.
Establishing solid relationships took time.
7. What one tip would you give to newcomers starting out in this vast growing industry?
Read the forums. Take Action. Stay away from guru BS. Info-overload is your enemy.
Remember: “An ounce of action is greater than a ton of theory”. Don’t fall into the trap of reading-without-action.
As my good friend always says, “I have a brilliant plan. It’s called taking action”. Follow that and you’ll soon find out that you’re happier than ever.
8. Give us a little glimpse into what a typical day in your life looks like.
Typical day starts off at 4AM, with a little bit of yoga and stretching for about 30-45 mins. I visualize the whole day, as to what I am going to do and etc and follow accordingly. At 5AM I check all the email I get, weed out the unnecessary ones and reply to the ones I intelligently can and then get ready. Once I am ready, I get my backpack and head toward university. As I am a full-time accounting student, University takes almost a whole day. Sometimes I return home at 10PM. From 10PM to around 2AM in the morning, I work on answering all the affiliates’ questions and providing the support to them.
Besides that, I also run campaigns myself. I am not the sort of person who banks off others’ efforts. I work for my affiliates as well.
Around at 2Am to 2.30AM I go to bed and wake up at 4AM again.
In a day, I am mostly online and reply to affiliates’ questions, so you wouldn’t find me resting, not in a billion years too soon.
9. Thanks Vish, if there is anything else you would like to say to the members of the eMillion community now is the time!
